Ikeda Moody-Golding

Overview

Ikeda Golding’s practice centers around her own surrealist microcosm, an interior realm made visible through her works on paper. Subjects are melded into the fabric of metaphysical realities, where nature is stretched to facilitate the unlimited expression of her narrativized characters.

Ikeda Golding’s practice centers around her own surrealist microcosm, an interior realm made visible through her works on paper. Subjects are melded into the fabric of metaphysical realities, where nature is stretched to facilitate the unlimited expression of her narrativized characters. Golding invites worldly hyperbole to the proverbial framework of English and African diasporic folklore and storytelling, so as to make space for the expansive chronicles of black imagination.

Ikeda Moody-Golding (b. 1996) lives and works in London. She received her Fine Art BA from Central St. Martins in 2020. Her drawings were shown in New York for the first time in the 2021 group show ‘Headless’ at Larrie, where she will have a solo show in March 2022.
