Xinyu Han

Overview
Xinyu's practice observes individuals living in cities' physical and emotional alienation; her works reflect her exploration of the complexity of group-individual relationships.  Her recent works reflect her thoughts on the relationship between the rules and order of the social environment and the need for emotional release. Through depicting motion and stillness, she explores the balance between "chaos" and "order" on different occasions. Xinyu extends the time on the canvas. Various marks made by brushes and paints suggest the presence and absence that co-exist in her paintings' universe. She aims to give viewers a sense of time in the 'here and now,' time happening in the immediate present, and of impact.
