The precision and infinite possibilities that come with the digital realm contrasts with the tactile and intimate nature of painting. I explore how the two mediums interact, overlap, and confront each other to address contemporary issues, specifically the working-class experience. Glitchy aesthetics emerge throughout my work to challenge perceptions of reality, blurring the lines between stability and chaos within working-class homes. A fascination for artificial and natural illumination from an early age and how it interacts with London landscapes influences my practice as I use light as a metaphor for emotional states. The fleeting nature of light is symbolic of my mothers love - there one minute but gone the next.
