Nettle Grellier

Overview

Grellier was born in 1993. She graduated with a BA in Fine Art Painting from the University of Brighton in 2015, before completing the Turps Banana Correspondence Course in 2020. Her work has been exhibited in the United Kingdom, Europe and Australia.

 

Having grown up in Gloucestershire, and now based in Cornwall, Grellier’s practice looks at the intricacies of ritual, storytelling, and gossip that are woven into the fabric of a small-town communities. Using symbolism and objects to weave tradition and contemporary culture through her own personal fables, Grellier is mainly concerned with the rural female experience.
