Jesse Akele

Overview
Jesse Akele is a London based artist. She was awarded the Basil H. Alkazzi Scholarship to study on the MA Painting programme 2023 at the Royal College of Art where she was shortlisted for the Chadwell Award. Her work focuses on exploring aspects of her own identity and personal history as well as the energies of her family, friends in her day to day life experiences. Fragmenting her subjects through a use of fluid abstraction she searches for a better understanding of them, herself and the space.
