The Fruit of Difference is a return to the origin, and an extrapolation to the infinite. A twist to the Forbidden Fruit, to liberate life from the shackles of static identity. Blooming endless transformation. Operating as a ceremonial artifact, a ritualistic representation of this divine ideal, the sculpture liberates narratives at a fundamental level to summon new possible worlds.

The work is a tangible reminder for the profound interconnection between all living things, the infinite potentiality of life. Encapsulating the Primordial Soup (the hypothetical substance where life first emerged on Earth) within a blown-glass organoid cluster, it embodies a field of biological singularity. We are all iterations of The One, of its eternal unfolding, small islands in the rivers of cosmic intellect. When given Nothing, The One -as Absolute Difference- will give us Everything, reality; and so Life will always be, yet never be the same, for Difference is Absolute. While Modernity views Difference as Violence, Zela´s work invites us to reframe it as Divine. Allowing us to empathize deeper with other ways of existence, while imagining worlds where all life-forms can co-exist and co-create their reality.
