These smaller studies explore imagery from an open source library photo archive where I live in Minneapolis. Many times the photos are depicting women at trial or leaving court during the 1920's, weeping or concealing their identity. I'm generally interested in the use of cropping to change meaning/omit information - its not necessary that viewers know what is happening in the photographs or when it takes place, its more of an engine for the making of the painting.
