Nadine Faraj makes watercolour paintings with raunchiness, humor, tenderness and soul. She paints portraits, nudes and sexualized figures in varying degrees of abstraction. Her fluid style allows figures to emerge as psychological and emotional beings with a full sense of their humanity. Faraj is committed to addressing issues of human rights, LGBTQI activism, feminisms and body positivity. In 2020 Leslie-Lohman Museum of Art produced limited edition prints of two of her artworks, In Gay We Trust. Her solo exhibitions include Get Used To Us and Naked Revolt at Anna Zorina Gallery, NYC. Her work was included in Queer As I, HEREart, NYC; Spring/Break Art Show 2019, NYC; A.I.R. Gallery’s CURRENTS: Abortion, NYC; Radical Love: Female Lust at Crypt Gallery, London; and The Dubai International Art Symposium, UAE. Her paintings were featured on the cover of A Woman’s Thing Magazine, as well as in Huffington Post, Elephant (UK), Huck (UK), Art F City, and Hyperallergic. Faraj holds a BFA from Concordia University, Montreal and an MFA from School of Visual Arts, NYC.
