I am pleased that these both have clear elements where the paint kind of breaks the fourth wall- by this I mean you can see the brush marks and are aware of them as paint on the surface of the painting. For example in Syncopate the loose yellow brush marks which drip down over a washed out band of colour. In Filament there are brush marks in thick yellow paint. To me, these slightly resist the rest of how the paintings read or at least cause a tension.

With these paintings when working on them I found myself imagining things suspended in glass, or simply suspended in the air. So to me there is a weird stasis in them. With glass objects there is a fascination because they hold traces of the very short time when they were molten. Which will gives you the sense of movement even in a static object.
