Henry Curchod
In his paintings, Henry Curchod depicts unmoored figures floating into undetermined spaces. Imbued at once with darkly comic sensibility, tenderness and eeriness, Curchod’s work addresses the paradoxical emotional and political scenarios we encounter in our life journey. Painted in oil-stick on canvas, the works alternate areas of textural softness and roughness, a layered colour palette and non-finito, bordering the reign of abstraction.
Henry Curchod (B.1992, Palo Alto, USA) lives and works in London. He received his BFA from the College of Fine Arts, University of New South Wales 2011-2014. Recent solo exhibitions include: 'Oh Fortuna!'
