Jake Grewal
Themes of identity, love, loss, violence and adolescence are explored through a queer gaze, creating a dream-like reality-based in nature.
Jake Grewal lives and works in London. Grewal’s drawings bring together the language of Romanticism and his South Asian heritage to express autobiographical experiences. Themes of identity, love, loss, violence and adolescence are explored through a queer gaze, creating a dream-like reality-based in nature.
Through this queer gaze, the figure of the male nude is reference repeatedly. Figures are exposed to the natural world which is often used allegorically to vocalise Grewal’s internal landscape.

To begin again we must shoulder each other, listen to each other, work together and collectively change together. As the newest generation of art collectors, we urge you to collect from this exhibition. The revenue made will support The Free Black University and the newest generation of artists.Read more

We want to challenge this, putting our ethos of supporting underrepresented contemporary voices into action by navigating this set back through a digital Instagram exhibition.Read more

DELPHIAN X GUTS
Socially, politically, and economically, we are living in trying times. 28 Nov - 4 Dec 2019Socially, politically, and economically, we are living in trying times. These difficulties create division, and division breeds competition. We endeavour to support all art-world practitioners wherever possible, whether they reciprocate or otherwise, and to collaborate with what would (by some) be called our direct competitors. We believe that the art-world would be a much more open, supportive, and progressive place to work if we started working together, rather than pulling apart. For this reason, Delphian and Guts have decided to join forces.Read more
